Okay, to all my friends who Cosplay - I need some advice, so.

I have my new Raichu jacket! (Thanks to ~SeeraaZoisaito for sewing it and MERV the Giant Banana Slug Plush/Pillow!) But I want to use some heavy duty metal snaps so I can attach my tail to it, so I'll have my tail but can take it off without ripping stitches if I need to wash the jacket or the tail seperate. I need some advice on what size and brand to get, and also some advice on wether metal or plastic would be better for this.

I'll be sewing the snaps on by hand, too, so tips on hand sewing when it comes to snaps would be awesome, and also tips on thread color. Since I'm going to sew the jacket snaps to the inside of the jacket, I don't worry about that thread being seen, but the thread on the back where I'm sewing things in might be a problem - I'm already thinking 'not black', but, don't know if I should go with white, or try to color match, which will be a little hard.

I'm going to the craft store this friday (Need to pick up yarn so I can finish ~SeeraaZoisaito's Blanket, too) and I need to know about snaps by then! So drop me some pointers? Thanks.
